Chinese Style Fried Rice

This was one of the first dishes I made 30 years ago when I first got married. The whole family now enjoys it.

Ingredients

1 1/3 c
water
1 1/3 c
minute rice
3 Tbsp
butter or margarine
1
egg beaten
1/3 c
onion chopped
2-3 Tbsp
soy sauce

Step-By-Step

1Bring 1 cup of the water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in rice and remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
2Cook egg in butter in a 10" skillet until set. Add onion and the rice and cook and stir over medium heat until rice and onions are slightly browned..about 5 minutes.
3Combine remaining water and soy sauce. Stir into rice. Mix well and serve.
