This spiced iced tea incorporates some specialty items you may have on hand for the holidays. It is kid friendly but the adults have the option of adding their favorite spirits. Cooks choice on the flavor of tea bags. I liked the red zinger when I made it. It's the holidays; drink up!

Ingredients For holiday spiced iced tea

    whole cloves
  • 4
    cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 1
    2 inch long strip of lemon peel
  • 8
    herbal tea bags
  • 1/2 c
    sugar

How To Make holiday spiced iced tea

    Wrap cloves, cinnamon and lemon peel in a piece of rinsed cheesecloth. Gather into a bundle and tie off. NOTE': Do not despair if you cannot find cheesecloth! Substitutes include: 1) any tread bare linen or towel, cut to fit 2) medical gauze has similar texture but is too thin. Use 3 layers and cut to fit. 3) thread bare clean sock

    Bring 8 cups of water to boil in a pot. Add spice bundle and tea bags. Remove from heat and steep for 10 minutes.

    Discard spice bundle and tea bags. Stir in sugar until dissolved; let cool. Pour in pitcher and chill for 2 hours. Serve over ice. Garnish as desired.
