Christi's Story

This is the perfect dessert for that Labor Day or July 4th picnic! It's also a great, light dessert anytime! This recipe also calls for premade cake; so,...no cooking involved! :-)

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Fresh and fruity! This creamy dish is light as a feather and tastes like a dream... a good dream. Great to serve for Fourth of July or anytime you're in the mood for a festive dessert!

Ingredients

1 pkg
blueberries, save a few for top
1 pkg
raspberries or strawberries, save a few for top
1
premade angelfood cake
1 pkg
of cool whip of choice
1
clear glass container large enough to layer ingredients

Directions Step-By-Step

Lightly rinse and pat dry the berries.

Tear the angelfood cake into bite-sized chunks (no need to be even).

Start with placing half of the cake chunks in bottom of container.

Sprinkle a layer of raspberries (or strawberries).

Spread half of cool-whip over berries.

Repeat steps 3-5. Decorate top with leftover berries. Serve :-)

This is So Easy and Very tasty. I Mixed the Berries for Red White and Blue also. I added Many more Berries then recipe Calls for and it's a Hit.

Whenever possible,we all need to be checking the chemical ingredients in our food. Pretty sure Cool-Whip is brutal!!!

@catherine - Be careful with the sugar free sweeteners. Most of them are loaded with chemicals. You might want to try stevia if you are trying to avoid sugar. It's derived from a plant and it actually provides health benefits, such as supposedly helping to lower blood pressure and is also used as a digestive aid. It's 300x sweeter than sugar. I've been able to purchase stevia in a form that can be used for baking and other cooking needs. Don't confuse it with truvia, which also contains chemicals.
