Aurora's Story

My dad texted me a picture of a pie crust he made. I thought it was genuis and immediately copied it! He filled his with apple raspberry filling, I made a Dutch apple pie. This would also be great for sweet potato, pumpkin, pecan, or peach pie.


pie crust -homemade or purchased
4 Tbsp
butter, melted
2 Tbsp
egg white

Directions Step-By-Step

Roll out pie crust as usual for a bottom crust. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon.
Roll up tightly, as you would for cinnamon rolls. Cut into 1/4 inch slices.
Press slices into pie plate. Push pieces together and up sides to seal.
Brush with egg whites and fill as desired.

Aurora, Yes, I did take some pictures and have posted them :)
BTW I did the top by laying out each of the pieces and did it between two pieces of wax paper then took the rolling pin and went over them lightly. Removed the top piece and flipped it over. It worked pretty good I had to fix it a little. I served it with a scoop of ice cream and drizzled some caramel sauce on top. The crust with the butter & cinnamon was flaky and so good!

I made a pie the other day and used your Pop's Cinnamon Roll Pie Crust and filled it with Citrus Apple Pie I used apple-raspberry flavor sparkling water for the liquid and cornstarch sauce for my apples in her recipe. Then used your Pop's Cinnamon Roll Pie Crust for the bottom and top crust. I also used the same flavor water for my pie crust recipe.
Oh it was a winner if I say so myself and almost too pretty to eat :)
