Pour the pecan pieces in the bottom of the unbaked pie shell.
Whisk together the eggs and sugar in a 2 qt. or larger mixing bowl. Whisk in the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour the mixture over the pecans (don't worry, they will rise to the top)and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for approximately 50 min. or until the center is beginning to puff and has only a slight wiggle to it.
