Shelia's Notes:

My mother, Lucille’s older sister, Bonnie Hutchinson lived her whole life in Delaware County Oklahoma. She left the family farm in Euchie, married her husband Bus, moved to Jay and they raised their 4 children there. Bonnie worked many years at the drug store in Jay. She was a homemaker, dressmaker, quilt maker, and an excellent cook. She always had a smile on her face and she dearly loved my mama. We all loved to visit Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bus. We loved to wake up to breakfast at Aunt Bonnie’s because she would greet us with that infectious smile and serve us pancakes with chocolate syrup.

Directions

1
Mix all the ingredients together and place in a small pan. Cook on medium and stir until the sugar is dissolved. This syrup can be served cooled or hot.

Pour over pancakes and fill a child’s heart with smiles.

My mama made this for us. I made for my children as they grew up and now for them and their children. All five of mama and daddys children have passed this on to our children. Thanks for the idea to use it on pancakes. We always served it with hot biscuits and lots of buttet. So good.
