spiced apple rings

From http://cooks.com/a795c7kw Spiced apples are traditional fair at my sweetie's family's Thanksgiving meal, but are getting harder and harder to find at the grocery, hence my search for recipes. I'm not much for canning, but this recipe does not require it (as do most others for this dish), instead counting on the spices to act as preservative. And since they will be eaten within the specified time, no other method will be necessary! This recipe doesn't add any other spices beyond the red hots, not even real cinnamon, but I pinched another recipe which calls for more interesting spices
