|1/4 lb||1 stick butter|
|1 1/2 c||sugar|
|pinch of salt|
|8||ripe peaches, peeled and thinly sliced|
|1/2 c||water or brandy|
|4 Tbsp||1/2 stick butter|
|1 tsp||baking powder|
|1/2 c||milk or fruit juice|
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt mix well.
Add the peaches and the water. Stir and heat thoroughly, about 5 minutes.
Pour into a greased, deep 9 by 9 inch casserole dish and set aside.
To prepare crust, in a medium sized mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk or juice.
Pour the batter over the peaches and bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
