I have not made this, but have eaten it. Very tasty and bakes rather quickly.A friend of a friend had a catering service. Retired, and My friend and I received several of his recipes. Thought to use them for church dinners.

apples (about 42 medium) good cooking apples, peeled and sliced,

all purpose flour,

Directions Step-By-Step

Arrange apples in four, greased, 13x9x2 inch pans.Combine water and lemon juice. Sprinkle over apples.
Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in cheese, and lightly spread over apples.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or till apples are tender and topping is lightly browned and crisp. Serve warm, or cool, with whipped cream or ice cream.
