Brown Jasmine Rice with Dates and Sliced Almonds

I created this rice recipe to go with a curried chicken dish I was making. We loved this rice ! It is so easy to make.

Ingredients

2 c
water
1 c
brown jasmine rice
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
chopped dates (pitted)
1/4 c
sliced almonds
1 tsp
lemon zest, grated

Step-By-Step

1Put water, salt and rice in medium pot. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce heat. Cook 20 minutes then add the lemon zest, diced dates and almonds. Cover and cook 15 - 20 minutes longer or till done. Keep a check on the liquid, as you may need to add a little more water towards the end to prevent sticking.
