This is from the hidden back region of Betty's recipe boxes. Sounds rich and potent. It's hand written so give me an opinion on a couple of directions and tell me what you think it wants.

Ingredients

1 c
brew( i think this is a cup of brewed coffee)
1 c
sugar
1 c
peaches (well drained and diced)
1 c
sugar
1 c
maraschino cherries (well drained)
1 c
sugar
1 c
pineapple (well drained)

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Place this in large container that you can seal and store for awhile. 1 cup brew, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup drained diced peaches. Mix and cover.
2
It doesn't say if this is to be stored at room temperature or not. But several people I have talk to said they kept theirs in the cabinet.
3
TWO WEEKS LATER: Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup well drained cherries and store.
4
TWO WEEKS LATER: Add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup well drained pineapple. Store.
5
TWO WEEKS LATER: Brandied fruit!

I understand that one for sure. I had lost my recipe and Stormy had to help me, so just passing on that information. There is always someone on to help. I so love everyone on JAP. It has been alot of fun. I am trying to write a couple recipes down people want, and I just made them up in a pince. but tomorrow is the 3rd cake I have made since I had to make a quick one last month, its just hard for me to get it figured out, lol. have a great evening and fun weekend. xoxoxo Laura

Thanks Laura. I'm trying to write these old recipes down for my kids so they don't get lost. But either some of these were common knowledge for cooks in their day or my mother-in-law thought she would translate for us. Which I wish she was able to. Any way I spend some time scratching my head over some of the steps. Thanks again.

Virginia, I made brandied fruit for years till I ate the starter too lol. I kept mine on the counter not the frig. it needs to work and it won't in the frig. my guess on Brew, is coffee.. On mine I had to keep a 1 cup going all the time.. but like I said, I ate that too. hahaha. I loved it on Ice cream OMGosh. xoxoxo have a wonderful day. xoxoxo, laura
