Everyone loves Chess Pie. It makes you understand the source of the phrase sugar pie as an endearment. It also packs a whopping 350 calories in 1/8 of a pie - so eat sparingly.

Method:
Bake

Ingredients

4
eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c
sugar
2 tsp
cornmeal
1 pinch
salt
1/4 c
melted butter
2 Tbsp
cream or buttermilk
1 tsp
vanilla
1
unbaked pie shell

Step-By-Step

1Combine everything (except pie shell) and blend thoroughly.
2Pour into unbaked pie shell.
3Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. My oven usually runs low so I'll go as long as 45 minutes sometimes. The center of the pie should puff up but still be moist. It will sink and crackle as it cools.
