Low Sugar (Truvia) Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce

Rose Mary Mogan

I had planned to make this recipe using Splenda, but discovered I was out of it at the last minute, and decided to use Truvia instead.

I must admit this is the first recipe I have made using TRUVIA, but I loved the results I got with this recipe.

Truvia is a Baking Blend, & a natural sweetner with sugar but has 75% less calories per serving than sugar.

The package states that 1/2 cup Truvia Baking Blend (190 calories) sweetens like 1 cup sugar (760 calories)

It is NOT A SUGAR FREE PRODUCT, but sweetens like sugar with less calories. I loved the consistency of the cranberry Sauce.

These are the main ingredients in this recipe.
Add the Truvia and the water to a medium size sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then add the cranberries. Continue to cook for about 10 minutes until cranberries begin to burst. Stir to prevent from sticking.
Cook until mixture is thickened and most of the cranberries have burst. Remove from heat, add the orange and butter extracts, then stir to blend. Allow to sit till thickened. Serve and enjoy.
