Sometimes I serve this with my macerated strawberries (recipe on just a pinch). Sometimes I serve it with liquor flavored whipped cram (also on line. It's very rich, so cut it thin.

Ingredients For chocolate terrine

  • 8 oz
    semisweet chocolate squares, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    butter, sliced
  • 1/2 c
    black coffee
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 4 lg
    eggs, beaten

How To Make chocolate terrine

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a loaf pan with heavy duty foil, bottom and sides.

    In a double boiler or medium sized bowl fitted into a saucepan, covering but not touching barely simmering water, melt the chocolate and butter.

    Add the coffee and continue to whisk to dissolve the sugar, continue cooking until very hot, approximately 120 degrees.

    Remove from heat and whisk in the eggs. Pour into foil lined loaf pan and bake in a water bath for 40 minutes.

    Let cool completely and wrap in foil. chill overnight. Turn out the next day and serve in slices.
