Sandy Griffith

This is one of my favorite ways to make cookies. Fun, simple, & easy!! Without all the fuss!

But the reason it is my son, Lee and I made them together when he was growing up and now I am making them with his daughter, my granddaughter, Lily.

Memories shared....a Wonderful thing!

pinch tips: Parchment Paper Vs Wax Paper

20 Min

No-Cook or Other

3 pkg
store bought sugar cookies
1 can(s)
frosting (any flavor)
sugar crystals (any flavors)

Directions Step-By-Step

Step 1. Go to the grocery store. Purchase sugar cookies.

Step 2. Get out the wax paper when you get home & spread out on kitchen table.

Step 3. Unwrap cookies.

Step 4. Remove 1 cookie at a time and spread with frosting. Not too thick. Place on wax paper.

Step 5. After you frost 10 cookies, sprinkle sugar crystals on cookies.

Step 6. After all cookies are frosted leave out to air dry for 45 minutes.

Step 6. Pack in airtight container for storage,

Step 7. Enjoy.
If making these for Christmas I use green and red sugar crystals.

If making for a Fall party I use Oatmeal cookies (not the frosted ones) and frost with orange frosting. Then I decorate these any way I want.

Just remember you can change up the frosting and decorate the way you want. But I have found out that the store bought sugar cookies or oatmeal cookies work best when making Shortcut Cookies.
