Ingredients

1/3 c
shortening
1/2 c
sugar
1/4 c
brown sugar
1
egg
1/4 c
milk
1/2 tsp
vanilla
1 c
flour
1/4 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
cinnamon
1/8 tsp
nutmeg
1/8 tsp
allspice, ground
1 1/4 c
quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c
raisin

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2Grease cookie sheet.
3With wooden spoon, cream together shortening, sugar, and brown sugar.
4Add egg, milk, and vanilla.
5Mix well.
6In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
7Stir spice into creamed mixture. (To measure 1/8 tsp., measure 1/4 tsp. and with narrow spatula push half off.)
8Add oats and raisins.
9Mix well.
10Drop rounded teaspoosfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
11Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
12Use wide spatula to remove cookies from cookie sheet.
13Cool on cooling rack.
