It was a hot summer day and my kids ice cream cones were melting faster than they could lick them... When suddenly I got inspired to recreate their favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream in the form of a cookie! They became a family favorite, right after we devoured the first batch, fresh from the oven. Now, I can even take my kids favorite ice cream on a picnic or send it as a lunchbox treat. How cool is that?

Ingredients

1 pkg
vanilla or white chocolate chips
1 stick
butter, unsalted
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
cream of tartar
1
small egg
1 1/4 c
chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (softened)
1/4 c
milk chocolate chips

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2
In a pot, on low heat (not double boiler) melt together white chocolate chips, butter and 1/2 of the cookie dough ice cream.
3
When melted, remove from fire and add flour, salt, cream of tartar and egg. Mix together quickly and until well blended.
4
Let stand for 5 minutes before stirring in the remaining softened cookie dough ice cream and stirring well.
5
Using a cookie scoop, drop batter onto un-greased cookie sheet and press one single milk chocolate chip deeply into center, covering completely.
6
Place in 350 degree oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Larger cookies may take slightly longer.
7
Gently press one single milk chocolate chip on top of each cookie while still warm and serve.
