A delicious showstopper of a cookie. I make these cookies for Christmas, and more recently had a request for them for a wine tasting party. My father has proclaimed them "the most delicious cookie I have ever tasted". Mission Accomplished.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
These are dynamite! Think ice cream sundae in cookie form! With their brownie-like cookie base and creamy cherry topper, we wiped out the first batch in record time. No shame in that, folks. You'll see what we mean when you give these a try for yourself!

I am in the process of making these for our Cookie Exchange on Thursday at work. I doubled the recipe! I know that altering the posted recipe is changing the recipe,so please don't get mad at me. However, had to share that my taste buds found the filling mixture really super sweet so I added 4oz cream cheese to the posted recipe. It was great! yes, a bit thicker than what it was suppose to be, but it was wonderful. Just wanted to share, that's all. Love this recipe, thanks for sharing. I am adding it to my collection for Christmas baking.

I made these today for a Gingerbread Party we are having Saturday. I made the small ones and ended up with 160 using your recipe. I put on the large cherry, but next time I will use half a cherry. Your recipe took me about 4 1/2 hours instead of 1 which included the 2 hour wait. We will have about 75 children making Gingerbread Houses and their parents and siblings. Its a mess but the children do not forget it. This is our 14th year to do this. Your cookie will be on the table along with Peppermint Eggnog Punch and a lot of other goodies. Been cooking for a week and a half. Thanks for the recipe.
