Notes from the Test Kitchen:
The method that Kathryn uses to melt the chocolate instead of using cocoa powder in this recipe makes for a deliciously fudgy cookie. The outside has a crisp crust and the inside is chewy with chunks of chocolate. These are soooo good!

Ingredients

8 oz
semi-sweet chocolate
4 Tbsp
butter
2/3 c
flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder
2 large
eggs
3/4 c
light brown sugar
1 tsp
vanilla
12 oz
package semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2Melt 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate and butter.
3Whisk together flour and baking powder.
4Beat eggs, brown sugar and vanilla on high speed until light and fluffy.
5Reduce speed to low and add melted chocolate.
6Mix in flour until just combined. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chunks.
7Drop by heaping tablespoon on parchment lined baking sheets.
8Bake, rotating sheets halfway through, until cookies are shiny and a bit soft in the center, 12 to 15 minutes.
9Cool on baking sheet 10 minutes; transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
