You can be creative with this recipe, your family might want candy in them or something else. Hint: if you make a larger cookie the time will be longer in oven. This is a very old recipe back when you used brown sugar out of a box.

Ingredients

3 1/2 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1 box
brown sugar ( 2 cps)
1 c
shortening
2
eggs
1 c
milk
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
dash
nutmeg

1Preheat oven too 350 Sift together flour baking soda baking powder salt. Set aside

2In a large bowl cream together sugar and shortening Add eggs milk vanilla and nutmeg blend well. Gradually add dry ingredients with nuts of your choice or flavored chips.

3I use 1/2 cps of nuts and I use a butterscotch or choc or whatever you like in the dry. I use 1 cp. You could also use cranberries (dried) Use your imagination at this point.

4Mix well then drop onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes till edges are golden brown. Put on cookie rack to cool. I use a tsp to drop but you can use a tbsp. for larger cookie
