Was thumbing through an old or should I saw Vintage Amish cook book and found these.

A great addition for those holiday parties

Ingredients

COOKIE

1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
crisco
3 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
4 large
eggs
3 c
quick oats
2 tsp
vanilla
1 tsp
salt
3 c
flour
2 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
baking soda
1 1/2 tsp
freshly grated nutmeg

FILLING

3
egg whites
2 tsp
vanilla
4 c
powdered sugar
1 1/2 c
crisco
5 Tbsp
flour
4 Tbsp
milk

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cookies

Cream together sugar with the butter and crisco. Add eggs beating well, add vanilla and dry ingredients and beat together. Bake for 9-12 minutes until done but soft.
2Filling

Beat egg whites (reserving yolks for another recipe) then once fluffy add vanilla and milk. Beat in powdered sugar, crisco and flour. Beat until light and frosting like. Once cookies are cool frost one and sandwich with another one.
