cane sugar
1 c
corn syrup, dark
1/2 c
dark molasses
1 c
sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk
1 c
dash of salt
1 Tbsp
anise oil or about 2-3 tablespoons anise extract

Directions Step-By-Step

Combine in a heavy saucepan over medium heat the sugar, molasses and corn syrup; mix well; add sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir constantly.Bring mixture to a boil and gently boil to 232^ on candy thermometer. Stir in anise oil and remove from heat. Pour into a foil lined greased foil 9x13-inch pan. Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes then place in refrigerator for a few minutes.Cut into bite size pieces and wrap in waxed paper or cellophane.
