Pat's Story

This is the best and easiest way to make a quick and delicious dessert. Moist and very flavorful. Give this recipe a try.

Ingredients

NOTE: DO NOT ADD EGGS,WATER,MILK,OIL -ONLY DRY CAKE MIX AND 1 OTHER INGREDIENT AS NOTED IN EACH RECIPE.
ANGEL FOOD MIX:
18 oz
angel food cake mix, lemon
21 oz
can lemon pie filling
combine the 2 ingredients and bake in an angel food cake pan;or jelly roll pan(15x10) bake in 325^ oven for 40 minutes.or less... cool upside down over bottle and cool (if using angel cake pan tube)completely. remove from pan and frost as desired.
if using 15x10 inch pan grease and bake 325^ for about 30 minutes, when cool frost as desired.
REGULAR CAKE MIX:
18 oz
regular cake mix
21 oz
can pie filling to coordinate with the cake mix you are using
combine the 2 ingredients together(not like dump cake) mix together. pour into a 9x13-inch greased cake pan and bake at 350^ for 30-35 minutes. or until tested done .
SODA-POP RECIPE:
12 oz
can (1 1/2 cups) soda/pop of choice to coordinate with cake mix( can use any carbonated drink)
18 oz
cake mix, any flavor to go with soda/pop you choose
combine cake mix and soda/pop in mixer bowl and mix until blended, beat for 1 minute. pour r into pan and bake at 325^ for 9x13 pan 25-30 minutes-for two 8-inch pans 15-20 minutes. for cupcakes(18) bake 15-20 minutes.

Thanks so much Pat and Cin. I appreciate your info about Dump Cake/Cobbler Cake, that too has been my experience but I could not find the exact words to use; thanks for describing for me. And, I believe I will use my jelly-roll pan when I make it, that way maybe it will get more done in the middle and be more like a cake.
Have you or anyone else used maybe 3 or 4 9" round pans and then iced them? Just a thought for a beautiful fall cake.

Joy........either can should work. You can use any canned pie filling, BUT, I always use an Angel Food cake mix and bake it in a jelly-roll pan (as shown in my photo above in the main photo).
If using other kinds of cake mixes, it is more on the order of a Dump Cake......and they usually do not bake as done as this cake (they are more like a cobbler cake).
Anyway that has been my experience.

Good morning Joy,
I would use the butter recipe, or the yellow cake mix. and bake in 9x13 baking pan or larger. bake until tested done in center about 35 minutes..Let me know how it comes out. Bake at 350^. Blessings..
