Hershey Syrup Cake

My dad use to make this cake all the time when we were young. Only he would use vanilla frosting with marachino cherries and walnuts on top. both ways are amazing

Ingredients

CAKE

1 c
sugar
1 c
sifted cake flour
1 stick
butter
4 large
eggs
1 tsp
each baking powder and vanilla
1 can(s)
16 oz hershey syrup

FROSTING

1
bar bakers sweet chocolate
1 Tbsp
butter
1/4 c
water
2 c
powdered sugar more or less for desired consistency
1 tsp
vanilla

Step-By-Step

1Mix all ingredients for cake together in large bowl. Bake in 350 degrees oven in a greased 9 X 13 pan for 50 minutes. Cool completely
2For frosting melt the chocolate butter and water together on stove. Beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cooled cake
