CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE

I learned to make this cake with my Grandmother years ago. Its a very moist and delicious cake. Can be made up in layers and frosted w your favorite icing.

Ingredients

3 c
all purpose flour
3 c
sugar
5 large
eggs
2 stick
butter, unsalted
1/2 c
crisco
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
1 tsp
vanilla extract and/or lemon extract
1 tsp
baking powder
1 pinch
salt

Step-By-Step

1*ALL INGREDIENTS SHOULD BE ROOM TEMP.

*FLOUR SHOULD BE SIFTED

Combine flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside
2Beat butter and cream cheese together until well blended
3Add sugar to butter and cream cheese mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. (color should be a pale yellow.)
4Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
5Add extract(s)
6Add dry ingredients. Mixing just til incorporated
7Pour into greased and floured pound cake pan. Bake for 1hr to 1hr and 15mins
