Notes from the Test Kitchen:
Get your glass of milk ready! This cake is ooey, rich, and full of butter pecan flavor. Using the pecan flavored cake mix is genius. Adding the pecans on top gives a little extra crunch. Make this for friends and family and it will disappear quickly!

Note: Watch your cake closely to not overbake. In our oven it was done in 35 minutes.

Ingredients

1 box
butter pecan cake mix
3
eggs
1/2 c
butter, melted
1
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1 16 oz. box
confectioners' sugar
1 c
chopped pecans

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
2
In a large bowl, mix by hand the dry cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter. Pat into the bottom of the greased pan and set aside.
3
With electric mixer, beat softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, and vanilla well. Add confectioners sugar and beat well. Pour filling onto cake mixture and spread evenly.
4
Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
5
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. You want the center to be a little gooey, so don't over bake.
