Ingredients

1 lb
round loaf of bread (i prefer sour dough for this but shepherds bread or french will do in a pinch)
1 lb
swiss, moterey jack or any other good melting cheese
1/2 c
melted butter
1/2 c
green onions (or if you are adventurous use jalapenos)
2-3 tsp
poppy seeds *optional
2 clove
garlic (or garlic powder) *optional

Step-By-Step

1Cut the bread lengthwise and crosswise without cutting through the bottom crust
2insert cheese between all the cuts
3combine butter, onions (or jalapenos), poppy seeds and garlic and drizzle all over the bread
4wrap in foil, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for 15 minutes
5Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted completely
