How To Make sunday mornin' "pretzelfest"
-
Step 1pre-heat oven to 425*, dissolve dry yeast packet in 1 1/2 cups of warm water, when fully dissolved add sugar salt and 4 cups of flour mix well until ball of dough is formed. Pour out onto a well floured surface and knead for several minutes until you have a nice workable texture.
-
Step 2break off pieces of the pretzel dough and roll them out by hand, form into shape of your choice. dip them in a baking soda bath of 1/4 cup warm water and 2 tsp baking soda. place pretzels on baking sheet that has been rubbed with shortening, and sprinkle with sea salt (if so desired)
-
Step 3Place baking sheet in 425* oven for 10-12 minutes keeping an eye on the pretzels the last 2 minutes. remove from oven brush tops with melted butter and watch them literally......disappear!!!!!
-
Step 4Oh, and by the way you can also make these tasty pretzel nuggets, same procedure just pinch off pieces of dough and form into nugget size pieces.
