I love the holidays and all the cooking, baking and decorating that comes with November and December. I love making boxes and baskets filled with goodies for friends and family. This bread is just one of the recipes I use. It is easy and delicious. This bread is great warm, spread with butter or cream cheese and a big cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

2 lbpecans or walnuts, coursely chopped

2 lbdates, chopped

2 csugar

2 call purpose flour

2 tspvanilla extract

1/2 tspsalt

3 tspbaking powder

8eggs, separated
How To Make special date nut loaf

1Separate eggs; in a medium bowl beat egg whites until very stiff.

2Put egg yolks in separate bowl and beat well. Add beaten egg yolks to stiff egg whites and mix well. Set aside.

3In a large bowl sift flour, baking powder and salt; stir in sugar and blend well; add chopped date and nuts. Add eggs and mix well. Pour into prepared loaf pans.

4Pre-heated oven to 325 degrees. Well grease 2 loaf pans. Bake 1 hour or until tooth pick in center comes out clean. Cool in pans about 15 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
