Southern Cornbread Stuffing

This is my favorite recipe for stuffing, I got it from Paula Deen's website.

Ingredients

7 slice
bread, toasted
1
saltine cracker crumbs (1 sleeve)
8 Tbsp
butter
1 large
onion
7 c
chicken stock
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sage, ground
1 Tbsp
poultry seasoning
5
eggs, beaten
pepper, black
1
pan of cornbread

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, dried white bread slices, and saltines; set aside.

3Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until transparent, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

4Pour the onions over the cornbread mixture. Add the stock, mix well, taste, and add salt, pepper to taste, sage, and poultry seasoning.

5Add beaten eggs and mix well.

6Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake until dressing is cooked through, about 45 to 60 minutes.
