Ingredients

2 c	self rising corn meal
5 Tbsp	all purpose flour
1	egg
1 c	buttermilk
1/2 can(s)	creamed corn
1/4 c	sugar
10-12	pickled jalapeno/chopped ..optional

Debbie's Notes:

Anytime we heat up a pot of oil to fry something Hush puppies are a must. I grew up not liking them at all...I love them now!! These crisp up on the outside and are light and fluffy on the inside. The jalapenos are optional..we like a litle heat mixed with the sweetness of the cornbread.

Directions

Heat oil to 375

Mix all ingredients

Drop mixture in hot oil . When they rise to the top let them cook a few minutes and flip over. It takes about 2-3 minutes for them to cook.They will be golden brown.

Cool on paper towel
