Ingredients

1/4 c
vegetable oil
2/3 c
water
3/4 c
buttermilk
2
eggs
1 tsp
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 c
cornmeal
1 c
self-rising flour
1/2 c
green onions, chopped
fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Step-By-Step

1Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. On the stove top, heat a large skillet to medium-high. Add vegetable oil, wait a few minutes for it to heat up. Add 1/4 cup of batter at a time into the oil like you are making mini-pancakes. Fry for 3 minutes or until golden brown, then flip for additional 2 minutes, adding oil to the skillet as needed.
