Christmas Morning Sausage Roll

My family loves homemade bread and the aroma of bread in the oven warms the heart and soul. A family tradition in this family for over 40 years.

Ingredients

4 c
flour
1/4 c
corn meal
1/4 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
2/3 c
vegetable oil
1/2 c
milk
2 lb
hot or mild ground sausage

Directions Step-By-Step

combine flour,meal,sugar,baking powder and salt.Sift together in large bowl. Stir in vegetable oil.Add milk and blend. Add a couple extra tablespoons of milk if necessary to form a stiff dough. Roll in a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread on sausage and roll jelly-roll fashion lengthwise. Wrap in waxed paper and chill or freeze. When ready to use slice and bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Serve warm.
