Elizabeth's StoryI got this recipe from my mom witch she got from her mother she has added some things to it through the years and it's very good.I love to make it and have with homemade chili or its good with just a nice side salad.
jimmy dean light sausage
martha white corn meal or you can use yellow
all purpose flour
ortega green chillies
mexicorn 11 0z
shredded cheddar cheese 8 oz
1Mix ingreidents to make cornbread.Cornmeal,flour,baking powder,baking soda,salt,eggs and buttermilk.
2cook sausage till done make sure its crumbled like hamburger meat.Add to wet cornbread mix.
3Add chillies,mexicorn,onion,and cheese to that and stir all together.
4Pour mixture into a 10 inch pan or iron skillet and bake at 350 f for 20 to 25 mins or until brown on top and done.

Hi Elizabeth...I am also from AR. I do not live very far from Ozark (infact it's only 1 hour 17 mins from me).
We used to be in a car club the went on a lot of drives that took us through Ozark. Some of the members loved going to Altus on wine tasting tours.
I have made a cornbread similar to your. I will have to make yours too.
