Bakestone Cakes (Welsh Cakes)

This recipe was given to me by my friend Lynne.
It was her Welsh grandmother's recipe. Her grandmother used to cook them on a bakingstone in Wales- hence the name.

Method:

Griddle

Ingredients

2 c
all purpose flour
2/3 c
shortening (not margarine)
1/2 c
sugar
1/2 c
milk
1
egg
2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
1 c
raisins

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix together, then roll out 1/3 inch thick and cut into round shapes.
Cook on each side until done in electric frying pan (or griddle if you have one!)
