This is a nice alternative to pizza and should be served as an appetizer because the crust is so much richer than pizza crust. An unexpected treat for guests.

Ingredients For heirloom tomato tart

1 pkgpuff pastry sheets, thawed
-
3 mdheirloom tomatoes sliced
-
1 cred and yellow cherry tomatoes, halved
-
1 cfresh mozzarella cheese chopped
-
1/4 cfresh mixed herbs chopped - basil, parsley, chives
-
2 Tbspolive oil, light
-
1 tspchopped garlic
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tsppepper
How To Make heirloom tomato tart
-
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place tomatoes on paper towels and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp salt. Pat dry after 30 minutes. In the meantime, roll out one puff pastry and place in an ungreased rectangular cookie sheet. Cut 1/2 inch strips from the remaining pastry sheet and make a lip around the rolled out pastry. Bake for 15 minutes until browned. Top pastry with mozzarella, place sliced tomatoes in a single layer and drop halved tomatoes evenly over top. Sprinkle with fresh herbs, garlic and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 15 minutes until cheese melts.
