Ingredients For chocolate chili

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2
    onions, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    plus 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 clove
    garlic
  • 2
    jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
  • 2 can
    15 oz each, ranch-style beans, undrained
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 2 can
    15 oz each, black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can
    15 oz, diced tomatoes
  • 4 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2 c
    beef broth
  • optional garnishes: sour cram, shredded cheese, minced chives

How To Make chocolate chili

    In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook for 2 minutes.

    Next, add the onions, chili powder and cumin, and stir together.

    Add the cocoa, garlic and jalapenos, mix together and cook for 2 minutes.

    Next, add in the ranch-style beans, cayenne pepper and oregano, and cook for another minute.
