when I married into an Italian American family , I never knew anything about the Feast of th 7 Fishes, I learned very quickly what is was all about , now we celbrate the Feast ourselves at our house . If you work it right, you can pull it off w/o breaking the bank , what I do is , I start buying fish and oysters and such about right after Thanksgiving , that way im not spending alot all to once .you have to run the cod fsh under cold running water ( fin steam ) for 24 hrs , or it will be horribly salty .
