I ate this while growing up. My ex-husband loved it. It is something I feel needs to be share - I have never heard of it anywhere else - though it might be out there

warm water
1 1/2 c
3 Tbsp
3/4 c
white sugar
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
2 -3 tsp

How to Make Raisin Sauce for Ham


  • 1Add raisins to warm water and allow to soak 15 to 20 min - until soft.
  • 2Drain raisns, keeping the water and raisns aside.
  • 3Cool water for 10 min.
  • 4Mix flour and ugar well. Slowly add the warm water, stirring on a med. heat, until the sauce clears. - The sauce will look somewhat transparent.
  • 5Remove from the heat. Add raisins, margarine and vanilla. Set aside while you are cooking other things - about half an hour.
  • 6Serve very warm with ham.
