- 1/2 cup granulated white cugar
- 1 tablespoon (rounded) cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup good water
- 2 cups (that's 1 pint) fresh or frozen blueberries

Step 1In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and water until they are smooth. Bring it to a boil. Cook and stir the mixture for 1 minute or until it has thickened. Stir in the blueberries and return it to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring often for 5 minutes.

Step 2You can leave the berries whole in the sauce for a rustic presentation or squish them and then strain the sauce for a smoother sauce.
