At one time, making home made chocolate syrup seemed silly or useless...After all, its not very costly to buy at the grocery store.. After making a batch, I realize how simple and asolutly fresh home made is

Ingredients

  • - 1/2 cup cocoa powder { use a good quality cocoa powder }
  • - 1 cup water
  • - 2 cups granulated sugar
  • - 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make home made chocolate syrup

  • Step 1
    Mix the cocoa powder and the water in a saucepan. Heat and stir to dissolve the cocoa, Add the sugar and salt-stir to dissolve
  • Step 2
    Boil for 3 minutes over medium heat. Be careful - don't let it boil over! Remove from heat - and the vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Let cool and pour into a clean glass jar, and store in the refrigerator. This makes abt 2 cups
