My son found this recipe on FB. It was good, but it doesn't make a lot. Just right for our family of 3. If you have more people you'll want to make more than one. Inspired By: http://www.thecountrycook.net/2012/05/taco-bake.html

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix
  • - water as directed on seasoning mix
  • 3 large flour tortillas, fat free
  • 1/2 cup salsa con queso
  • 8 ounces mexican blend shredded cheese

How To Make taco pie

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. While preheating, prepare taco meat by browning your ground beef it and draining any grease. Add your taco seasoning and water just as you would when making traditional tacos.
  • Step 2
Once seasoning is fully incorporated and the water has cooked down, turn off the burner and add in your salsa con queso. Stir until well mixed.
  • Step 3
Spray an 8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. I prefer a round dish.
  • Step 4
Begin layering, starting with a layer of tortillas in the bottom of your dish. Next, add 1/3 of the beef mixture, followed by 1/3 of your cheese. Repeat layers until you run out of ingredients.
  • Step 5
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges are golden and cheese is melty. Let stand a few minutes to cool before serving. Enjoy!
