Ingredients
- 1 - chicken, 3 to 3 1/2 lbs., cut up
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 3 tablespoons fresh chopped basil or 2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- BASTING SAUCE
- 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
- 3/4 cup tomato ketchup or chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
How To Make herb -tomato grilled chicken (microwave version)

Step 1Trim off excess fat from chicken pieces.

Step 2Place chicken on a microsafe rack or in a pie plate.

Step 3Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper and basil leaves.

Step 4Combine ingredients for basting sauce.

Step 5Microwave chicken at HIGH power for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 6Remove from microwave. Baste chicken with sauce on both sides.

Step 7Microwave chicken at HIGH power for 10 to 12 minutes, turning pieces over after 6 minutes and basting again with sauce on both sides.

Step 8Check for doneness. Juices should run clear when pierced with a fork.

Step 9Let chicken stand at least 5 minutes before serving.
