  • 2 lb
    round steak
  • 1 c
    crisco
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • 3 c
    water

How to Make Country Style Steak

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut round steak into pieces. Heat Crisco in large skillet (I use an iron one). Roll steak in flour and fry brown on both sides over medium-high heat(about 3 minutes each side). Remove meat from skillet.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons flour to the pan drippings and brown while stirring. Add salt and 3 cups water, stir well. Put steak back in pan and spoon some gravy over meat. Simmer covered on low 2 hours or until meat is fork tender.
