cloud buster cocktail
As most people know, the Space Needle was built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. I recently saw a vintage bar menu from the revolving 'Eye of the Needle' (Space Needle Restaurant with a 360° panoramic view of the fairgrounds) that lists cocktails created for the Fair and given names to fit the Fair's futuristic theme of 'Living in the Space Age'. I posted the recipes I could find (or, like this one, could recreate after a few tries). The 'Cloud Buster', was described on the menu as "smooth--a little sneaky. A delicate blending of vodka and sparkling champagne", and it was $1.50 in 1962.
