This recipe is too good not to share! You must purchase a Culinary Torch for this dish. Not that expensive....b/w $12-$25 and sooooo much fun to use! I recommend the one for $25. It is easier to use and generally comes with ramkins.

Ingredients

1 c
half and half
2 Tbsp
vanilla extract
6
egg yolks
1/2 c
sugar
1/4 c
turbinado sugar

How to Make Vanilla Creme Brulee

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat the half and half over the stove top with the vanilla extract. Medium heat for approx 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool down 5-10 minutes.
  • 2Seperate eggs and discard the whites. Mix plain granulated sugar with the eggs.
  • 3Combine the half and half mixture with the egg mixture. Pour in ramkins. Put ramkins in a baking dish and fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches 1/2 the height of the ramkin. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
  • 4After they have been cooled or refrigerated sprinkle turbinado sugar over the top and have fun with your culinary torch!!
