yield
2 layer cake
Ingredients
- 1 - chocolate bar, dark or milk chocolate (for shavings)
- 16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups cream (cold)
How To Make howl at the moon chocolate frosting
-
Step 1Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or double boiler. Set aside.
-
Step 2Beat the rest of the ingredients except for the cream until light and fluffy.
-
Step 3Remove bowl from mixer and add the chocolate and whisk in. Add the cream and sit bowl in an ice bath and stir until frosting has reached room temperature. (you can fudge on this, and just let it cool naturally, whisking from time to time.)
-
Step 4Frost the cake and then shave the chocolate bar over the top.
