- 1 pound dates, finely chopped
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons orange rind

How To Make orange date cake
-
Step 1Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Add milk and flour with baking soda alternately. Add dates and nuts. Mix well. Bake in slow oven at 250 for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
-
Step 2Topping: Mix 2 cups of sugar,1 cup orange juice, and orange rind. Mix well. This will sort of candy. Let stand until cake is done and then baste over hot cake a spoonful at a time until it all goes into cake.
-
Step 3Now this doesn't mention anything about pan type or size, so I assume it's a sheet cake because it never mentions removing it from the pan before spooning on topping.
