Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- GANACHE
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 4-oz - semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make chocolate-buttermilk bunt cake w/ ganache

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 10 inch bunt pan. Dust pan with cocoa powder.

Step 2For the cake: In a large bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add sugar.

Step 3In a medium bowl whisk together buttermilk, eggs, oil and vanilla.

Step 4Add buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture and whisk until smooth.

Step 5Pour batter into the prepared bunt pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Step 6Cool in the pan on a wire rack for ten minutes. Run the tip of a thin knife around the edge of the cake to loosen. Invert onto the wire rack and cool completely.

Step 7For Ganache: In a small sauce pan over med heat add cream, sugar, butter and vanilla. Heat until small bubbles begin to form around the edge of the pan and mixture is hot.

Step 8Remove pan from heat and add chocolate. Whisk until melted.

Step 9Drizzle ganache over the cooled bunt cake and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
