The song about Indiana that brings a tear to my eye is "Back Home Again in Indiana."
Long before Jim Nabors was singing it at the Indy 500, my mother was singing it. Every summer we went on vacation out of state and when we came home and crossed the state line, she would start singing in her sweet voice.
Take your pick, Connie--Indiana, Maine, just about any in between or north. I lived for six years in the South, three in New Orleans and three in Birmingham. New Orleans' autumn wasn't much of anything, but Birmingham was quite beautiful, with the mountains (Shades Mountain and Red Mountain) and LOTS of trees.
